In the little book, “Who Moved My Cheese”, Spencer Johnson and Kenneth Blanchard illustrate what happens when we refuse to effectively deal with change and how those willing to open themselves up to new possibilities find prosperity.
The shift in economic conditions and the reaction by the majority mirror the irrational behavior of the little people, Hem & Haw who attached significance and meaning to their old cheese and refused to face the change that was before them.
Little Haw got hungry enough to eventually begin the search for new cheese even if that meant searching in places he’d never been before.
If you are looking for financial security where you’ve always found it before …I’m here to tell you, it’s not there any more and if you don’t decide to look elsewhere your situation can only get worse.
If, however, you are willing to see the opportunities where they now are, and no matter your circumstance, believe the facts I am going to share with you rather than the media and political hype – your place in financial freedom is virtually guaranteed.
So, I ask again, what if you could know the right thing to do to ensure you profit from today’s economic conditions?
I have a different take on ‘the economy’ and this thing we call a crisis:
- Before the ‘crisis’ the US economy was running at about $1.9 trillion. This is sort of a basic measure of the ‘flow’ of money.
- Now in the midst of what people are convinced is a crisis, it is running at about $1.8997 trillion.
- That represents less than a 15/100ths of a percent decrease and approximately $300M.
- A fair amount of money for an individual to be sure but not even a rounding error for the fortune 50 let alone an entire US economy.
- So why the lay-offs and all this ‘the sky is falling’ talk? The same amount of money is flowing, so what is the problem?
- Simple, the money is just flowing different places then it was flowing before. Think of it like a river that changed course.
- The businesses that are parked on the old financial river bank are stuck there, waiting helplessly for the river to flow again (think the US auto makers), yet the river is flowing a different place and will never return.

The good news is that those of you who find where the business is flowing can place yourselves by it and generate astonishing levels of success. This, by the way, is how every one of the most successful people in industry accomplished what they have accomplished.
Don’t make the mistake of waiting for the economy to ‘recover’. Don’t think for a single second that the Government can do anything to change things back. And don’t blame those ‘greedy son of gun’ wealthy business owners for doing anything wrong. The irony of ironies is that they created this opportunity for you.
The ‘economy’ will not return to the way it was. But, frankly, I don’t want it to anyway. So why lament?
Instead it has charted a new course.
The ONLY path to ‘recovery’ is entrepreneurial growth and success.
Always has been, always will be.
If you want to win, you must meet the opportunity where it is.
From this perspective, I say, “Crisis, what crisis? This is the biggest opportunity I have ever seen in my lifetime and I’ve seen a bunch of them”.
The trick is knowing which opportunity is best suited for you. This is not just a magic trick…it is the real key to success. We’ve all known people who have started a small business -or got involved in a business opportunity with the greatest of hopes and dreams only to fail to make even their initial investment back.
