Relevant \ˈre-lə-vənt\ – having significant and demonstrable bearing on the matter at hand.
As you’ve learned thus far in order to realize the success you expect, not ‘just any’ business or business opportunity will deliver. In order to succeed in business you must be investing your self in a business that is relevant to you.
In this lesson I teach you how to filter through the infinite array of options and identify those few that are truly relevant to the success you expect and deserve.
Nothing else will deliver so this is an important lesson for you.
–
Today I showed you how to distinguish truly ‘relevant’ options from ‘irrelevant‘ ones for your perfect business.
I am really interested in hearing your thoughts about today’s lesson.
Do you have any stories to share?
Have you ever fallen into the trap of pursuing the irrelevant and wondered why you did not succeed as you had hoped no matter how hard you worked at it?
Can you see that starting your search by first understanding the life your perfect business must deliver is far more powerful than the typical random trial and error bizop approach?
Are you better equipped to use the information you have gathered up to this point as the constraints to distinguish “relevant” options from “irrelevant” ones?
How will this lesson change what you are doing right now?
I’m standing for all that is possible for you in life and business.
Sincerely,
Steve
PS – The fact that you’re here means that you take being successful as an entrepreneur very seriously. I want to congratulate you on the commitment you’ve demonstrated thus far. Your kind of commitment is one of the key qualities I associate with success. And it’s rare…very rare.
The lessons I’ve delivered thus far in this series are advanced techniques and can be challenging without regular practice. ThePerfectBizFinder Program is a structured step-by-step system expressly designed to develop mastery of these and other success generating methods by investing just 15 to 30 minutes a day. Look back at the insights you’ve gained thus-far from this collection of video lesson. Then consider that it’s just a tiny fraction of what’s available to you in ThePerfectBizFinder Program.
As you turn the corner and head into the final two lessons of this series, I want to encourage you to grab your copy of ThePerfectBizFinder Program Manual at the special price reserved exclusively for you. It will make the difference for you, no matter where you are in the process of finding or building your perfect business. I think you should own it.

“You saw the missing step that so many well intended mentors did not see. The more I read and used, the more I recognized that my other efforts had no solid foundation on which to begin a business. Particularly in those areas that pose hidden obstacles that need to be handled before I make decisions. This program is like granite when all the other would-be business mentoring programs are building on sand. Thank you Steve!” – Bill M.

dear people, this reminds me at the time i was looking for new job. i was working in IT, as an interaction designer for seven years, and those ware no seven years in tibet, believe me. i was depressed, empty, not knowing what i should do. i only knew that i do not want to sit behind computer any more.i was sitting in a park, after days of searching every job site there was. it seemed that there are no jobs i could fit in. i walked out just to get some air.after few hours sitting there, i don’t know how, at one moment of clarity, i turned things around: i can not find job out there, i have to find it in myself.i draw myself from head to feet on a peace of paper (i always carry pencil and papers) and wrote around that drawing everything i knew about myself, starting with “huge hair, visible from 500 meters” “nice smile”(everybody said so, so it must be true) “bad back, can’t stand more than 5 minutes” then i wrote wants and don’t wants: “i don’t want to sit behind a desk while working. but i want to jump and run and walk during my work… that would be fun”after i finished all of that, i imagined the interview with an Uber- employer. the one i don’t have to explain myself – the one who knows me better that i know myself. i asked him(or her?) to place me on the job i would enjoy, i would be good at it, and through which i would be most productive. it took me five minutes reading all the things that i wrote to come with – workking with kids.and it was a best decision i ever made. i wrote a letter, i didn’t even send my cv, i got a call in 15 minutes, and i got a job with kids the next day.the one i am very good at, that gives me inspiration, and huge network. which inspires me to do more – to have my own school (not a regular school, school for everything else)
Hi Steve, Great e-book. Thank you. It seems like there are opportunities to find relevant options and at the same time allow a limiting belief to prevent you from seeing additional relevant options. How do you know when you have reached “the” ideal? Is there such a thing? Thanks for all the great information. This changes everything!
Hi Steve,
I had a little trouble understanding this material at first. But I think that I was getting it by the end. I will work with it and see how it goes.
Lesley
Wow…!Maybe a deep breath is something one might consider at this point. As I’m heading back to review your recent/past postings, giving myself every opportunity to expose my true inner attributes & contributions. Powerful stuff here Steve… Thanks Tons!-michael
Hi,It sounds so simple, yet it is so effective. I have, of course, already defined the like’s and dislike’s. But you showed me Steve, that there are more constraints. For me, the great eyeopener was the story of the musician. What I liked in that story, that after realising how he was sabotaging himself, he didn’t ended by serching a quite different job leaving his drums at all, but that he found a new form, which was even better. It really is so simple, but you have to see it! So I’m looking now to my activities again, to define even better the form. It is quite clear to me I’m an entrepreneur (I’ve been a proprietor) and that I want be abslotely free to envision what ever I choose to. So now my point is to find a creative form how to do it.
This is really working I did have to go back and read through all my notes and personal studies thus far and read this one several times by the end I have yet another page of notes and a more defined picture of what my step are I need to do next . This has been great I keep looking for the next lesson, yet I know how to start now . Thank You
perfect!!
Supper, Thank you
Steve,I printed off the first page from the survey but cannot locate the following pages of details. Actually, I redid the survey and thought it was more focused. Can you find and/or send me the follow up pages?Thx,Karl BunkelmanPS. You use several words like “distinction” and “standing for”. Sound like a Landmark graduate?
This is really ashtonishing that it should come on my path, just before introducing my goal/business to the world!Dreams-come-true!!!Saskia
it becomes more fun every day!!!!
Again you are talking about doing the exercises! Can’t you be more preciseplease. I can not use the story aboutthe drummer to anything other than anexample on what you mean. Where arethe exercises on authesity, honesty andintegrity?
I must admit I didn’t go through exercises (I am to busy to go through them seriously), but I will because I find all this very inspiring and I will need to take more care about details – ideas are explained clearly, generating new options and filtering them is good, but I wonder how to can one cope with large, huge amount of options ?
I’m with Saskia. What exercises? Are they right under my nose? It wouldn’t surprise me at all.
Hi all – I can see that my reference to the ‘exercises’ has a number of you confused. I am very sorry I was not more clear.
This is the excerpt from the eBook I was referring to:
“Review the information you have prepared thus far through each of the
previous exercises. Compile the information as a set of constraints that characterize the perfect business you desire.
As you do, you will be stimulated by ideas that fit ‘into the box’. Where you need more information you will be led to a relevant inquiry. The answer to this inquiry will lead to either new business ideas or a clear indication that you have found a viable candidate for your perfect business.”
We explore this area in a good bit more depth within the program itself and there is not quite as much room for misinterpretation. Clearly individual inquiries will vary greatly.
I am going to clarify this in the future and appreciate your patience and understanding.
Thank you.
Steve
Hi Steve,It is just fantastic! Every word and every point is precised and clearly defined. It is true that the lure for making good money in the the various types of businesses today is everywhwere and you have definitely provided the crucial information for people to be more aware and cautious in what they will be investing. “Your success will be generated from within.” is your magic word, Steve! Usually we are convinced or attracted by businessmen persuasion techniques and we plunged into the wrong business. You have said it well and this is truly an eye opener for everyone who wants to go into the right business. Thank you so much and God bless you!
I found this exercise very helpful. Your whole approach in helping us narrow down and focus with each exercise on what would be relevant to us individually has been very effective in helping to bring clarity to some of my own nebulous ideas. I thought your cautioning us to not impose false principles or artificial constraints was also critical and eye-opening.Maybe you can pitch a show to CNBC. I think your information is just as valuable as Donny Deutch’s “The Big Idea.”
Hi Steve, Hello and how are you? This lecture has brought me closer to my goal of my own practice. I would like to open a chiropractic office. I am looking to start a LLC.Thanks,Damon
It really seems simple, but as you go deeper into thinking and studying your options, new and wider horizons are opening in front of you. Excellent guidance. Thank you.
Hi Steve,When I got to this exercise, I had to stop and go back to the beginning and review everything you had to say, every note I had written, and somewhere in the middle of reading my Matrix Report again; I had a head-rush like I’d never had before! My perfect business jumped right off those pages at me! It was like a neon sign, while I sat in my chair, reading the pages, and grinning from ear to ear like someone had just injected me with a dozen vials of adrenalin!!! I was totally amazed by the reality of it all and could not understand why I couldn’t see it clearly the first time through! Perhaps it was “changing baggage” that caused the clear thinking. Or perhaps everything is starting to come together, finally. Or perhaps, as I have said from day one, I am now right where I am supposed to be! Again, thank you for all you do for all of us out here!!! You are AMAZING! Thanks, Mary
Hi Steve,Thanks for another great, thought provoking video. I found the Ed De Bono exercise great fun and immediately decided that the guy had jumped through an internal window! As the video continued It made me realise that I most often assume I know the answer without actually seeking additional informational upon which to base my decision, my primary focus just being to make ‘a’ decision and move forward. I will certainly be applying this lesson now!I was also struck at the beginning when you mentioned how people jump into all sorts of things wthout thinking and working out what is relevant. I believe this is becuase we decide to buy things or do things based on our ‘desired projected outcome’ and not on reality itself. We buy products because we want to look like the person advertising them or courses because we want the lifestyle we think it will give us.I appreciate this lesson in thinking deeper and indeed I think more lessons on ‘Structured and Evaluated thinking in preparation for business and Life generally’ would be a great asset to all.Regards,Claire
Hi Steve, I have thought long and hard about my perfect business. I need a business that challenges me mentally but yet shows a profit. My choice is the field of chiropractic. Searching for a persons physical problem challenges me enough. I firmly believe a position in the health care industry is in my future. Thanks,Damon
As I reviewed the exercises, I was reminded of a comment Diane von Furstenberg made in a recent ad campaign, which she often includes in her interviews, that she didn’t really know what she wanted to do, but she knew the woman she wanted to become. Fashion was a by-product of that singular goal. In going over the exercise on How to Guarantee Success, I realized that my vision had to be greater than what I want to have in my life and include who I want to become.
i’m ready to purchase the program but when I go the area it tells me to go to i get directions to take the survey. Tell me how can i purchase the program.KimThanks
I listened to the audio and felt the information provided on generating relevant business options very helpful. Presentation if fantastic. I have no words to express my gratitude. Thank you sir.
Great material Steve, I am starting a Blog after musing for 11 years that will purport to help people start a small business. After reading your material, I signed up as an affiliate, I never could be as much help as you are doing now..I have 35 years experience in franchising, mostly in the development, sales and specializing in site selection and market analysis. I may be of some service to your customers eventually. Great work Steve.
Hi Don,
Thank you for you encouraging comments and for joining me in the affiliate program. I am thrilled to have you supporting and endorsing my program.
The number one challenge franchise consultants report to me about there work is knowing that they are working with people well suited for the unique characteristics of franchise ownership.
You can be certain that the people who complete ThePerfectBizFinder Program and choose franchising are well aligned and welll equipped to succeed in franchise business roles.
I can also well imagine that people who complete ThePerfectBizFinder Program and have determined to franchise could be well served by your support.
Please keep me posted.
Sincerely,
Steve
Steve, you are a wonderful speaker! So clear and with a perfect pace! And I really appreciate the organised and direct approach you take! Bravo!I will be watching more of your posts, although I must admit, I don’t really feel that the biz op world is really for me…I have tried a few, but I really don’t like selling anything!I really took on the other businesses, not only to supplement our income, but to try and get comfortable with selling, but I just couldn’t get into ‘convincing’ people! If they didn’t want it, fine! And it seemed to take so much time, time that i would rather spend following my true passions, writing and composing. I wanted to get comfortable with selling so I’d have an easier time putting my work out into the world! All the same, I truly appreciate the professionalism and clarity of your work.ThanksKate
Hi Kate,
Thank you for your kind encouragement.
I appreciate your perspective.
Selling is not about convincing people at all. It is really about service…being of service to someone.
Helping them address a dissatisfaction or need of some sort. This is one of the most common misunderstandings, especially in the Bizop / MLM industry. It is often omitted from the distributor training protocol many companies offer.
That said, the same principles apply to you selling your art. The conversation you want to have with people is about what they are looking for and perhaps why.
You will get a bit of this in the ‘11 Golden Rules’ article in a week or so. However, with in ThePerfectBizFinder Program you will really dig deep into developing your own form of selling that allows you to serve people with your art quite comfortably and naturally.
I hope you’ll join me there.
Sincerely,
Steve
Steve, I am a litle overwhelmed with this thought process. I think I need to review the past exercises before I move Forward.
Hi Steve. I appreciate the information you are sharing about the perfect business. I’m in sales for more than 18 years and realised I’m not having fun in this area. Consultive Selling is my strength, but building new relationships and finding new prospects is something I can, but not like. I’m a person who wants to help people to be successfull, give them the best solution for their (technical ICT) problems, but they have to come to me instead of I go to them. How can I change this the good way so people can find me?
Steve, I have been listening to your videos for a few weeks and you have touched on so many things. I am a legal secretary and have had the stability of this type of job for many years, but I am ready to break away. I have been involved in Network Marketing for about a year now. But, I feel a bit lost sometimes. I think you are an awesome leader and I just cannot thank you enough. I am involved with an MLM and have been having a hard time because I don’t like the “shark like aspect of selling” that I am told I should do.After taking your survey/test, sales turned out to be my weakest area…which made me laugh, because it is true. I am an extroverted person….just don’t like to push myself on people.I do love to help people and want everyone to succeed. I feel a bit confused about what I could possible do, but I look forward to finding out with you. Thanks again,Barbara
Really liked this video. It will help me to analyze I am developing and that others are sharing with me as I share this process with them.
Steve, once again, a profound message on perspective and the power of additional queries. I have not heard the term ‘lateral thinking’ before and like the way it engages not only the intellect but the emotions as well. It is like hitting a pause button and taking the time to ask, ‘does this mean what I think it means or does it mean something else entirely.’ Wonderful metaphor with ‘the man and the window.’ Thanks, David
This lesson reminded me of a dear friend of mine who in the space of 5 years, started a commercial cleaning business, took a course and got a license as a manicurist, took a course to become a medical transcriptionist and worked briefly for a chiropractor, and got into a health supplement MLM. She had been working in a vet clinic when dissatisfied by the money she was making she decided to launch one business after another. For example, she underbid other cleaning services in our local business complex and landed a few excellent contracts. But her initial energy was soon sapped by the desire to be at home in the evenings with her family. She tried hiring others to do the work, but they weren’t reliable. Worse, during the day when she visited other local businesses to get them to try her service, she ran into a brick wall. The business owners were satisfied with their current arrangements. To grow her business, she would have had to leave our area. She wasn’t willing to do that. She loved working on nails, but again, locally, there wasn’t enough business and she was unhappy when hair salons called her with a last-minute appointment.Despite her good sales persona, she could not convince our neighbors that taking the organic health products through her MLM were a better value than the over-the-counter sources they were using that were cheaper. My friend’s business failures ended up costing her thousands of dollars in out-of-pocket expenses not to mention the loss of income she could have made if she had remained at the vet clinic. If she had had access to your program she would have known ahead of time that any business with undefined or off-business hours would not suit her. Btw, she’s worked at a different vet clinic for the last 4 years and is happy!
Steve, I wish to thank you. I was reluctant to purchase your course, mainly because there are so many scams out there. But you really deliver more than I paid for in value. You are one of the straightest shooters on the Net. Good work. All the best to you. Mick.
Hi Steve, I found this a complicated idea but a rewarding one. I guess we all narrow down our options but rarely use that as a way of generating new ones. Thanks.
Dear Steve Lettle, you gave us great gift of information about, how to distinguish truly relevant opotunity from irrelevant one.Thank you for all the values about how to build a good business ,which you teach byyour vedeos.Lea Sedan/

Very good. I can’t wait to go over more , but I must sleep now. I will join as soon as I can. Thank You . Very well done. Thomas Savage
Hi Steve! I’ve been fascinated and loaded with alot of ideas on bizfinding. I am in the process of building concepts for the right business. I can be a consultant because of my teaching abilities and I am good administratively. Though I am rich in technical knowledge, I lack the financial capability to start a business. Your lessons help me in considering all options. Looking forward for our success. Thank you so much. –Jez
Ahoy Steve: What little I have used of your program has got me off my butt. (figure of speech). How having found a product. I now have something to work on.I did send you a note about asking for your help on this Buzz. I all most can’t wate till things start popping. There is so much profet I’ll need help with what to do with it. As there is more that I can spend.
Steve, You addressed the issue of scams and bad advise very well. The greatest obstacle to getting persons to sign up for your program is undoubtedly the misrepresentations of others trying to sell to the same persons. Your program represents a very reasonable investment for an individual for whom it works and a very substantial drain of cash flow for those for whom it does not work. Therefore, a person must be convinced in their own mind that they are going to make the committed effort and that they will receive exactly what you promise. It is a two way street for both persons. I am doing some deep thinking to decide if I an completely committed. You, of course, realize that this is a blind leap of faith for the potential student who has been mislead in the past. I am enjoying the videos and thinking about them and their impact for the future. Thanks for the information received so far. I will be talking to you further in the near future.
You should ask your pal Joe Vitale what happened to Ester Hicks… that wouldbe a great story for your subscribers…
Opps! I ejoyed that one a second time. And it was good both times. Thomas Savage
Hi Steve! This was a great lesson, and I concur that someone having limiting beliefs in their ability could prevent them from seeing a viable business opportunity that might actually suit them down the road. We often just need to get out of our comfort zone and ”grow ourselves” skillwise with education and by practice. All successful people at one time were bungling and awkward at their businesses until they modeled other successful people or gained needed skills for that business.
Hi Steve,Great video, I guess I am still a little perplexed. I have three businesses that are in the final stages of construction and also opening an educational learning center. I also have a children’s new and gently used clothing/accessories plus maternity store which we purchased 7 months ago and it is holding it’s own. the other three bussinesses are a garden gallery, alternative energy and antiques/collectable store. All three businesses are located at the same address. We will also do consignments and vendors. I am retired from the California Department of Corrections and have experience with antiques and collectables also with gardening. I have had a resle permit since 2000. The only thing new to me is the alternative energy businesses. I have taking a few classes on solar and we installed our 8.4Kwh system ourselves. We have also installed a 1.2Kwh small wind turbine at the business. I truly feel that as diversified something should be right. I would also like to be able to build a landmark botanical gardens in our town. I have made alot of mistakes along the way and spent alot of money as well. I want this to work our area is in need of someone who wants to help and make things affordable for people. Our motto in this town is to buy local, however that would be great if things were more affordable. Anyways out of all the individual I have listened to you have been the most honest and upfront. I truley would love to have your group mentor me, but do to my own wrong turns along the way I will be struggling for some time to keep my head above water. I realize that nothing is free in life and it takes determination plus hard work to get to where your going. I now have to buckle down and keep moving forward. I would like to meet you sometime and talk. You have been a great help for me in understanding which way to go, but I know I got myself in this mess and somehow will figure how to get things right. Thanks Again,Mark Danner
Thanks Steve, it is very useful information!
Very interseting and informative.
Hi Steve,
I have to tell that you are the one who’s giving business a human face to me for the first time. You have really managed to get me interested in business matters – never before have I done this. For the first time I begin to see a picture of what I want and how can I achieve it in business, plus: being happy about it. For me, it might turn out to be “before and after Steve Little”. I thank you so much.
PS. I found Yanik Silver’s ideas about internet business very informative and useful. I appreciate your reffering it to us.
This is to everone,,i recieved a personal email from Steve,,and he is with out the most guenine person,in my 33 years of buisness that ive met,,, Thats all i can say,,because it was a personal email,,, Steve,,thank You,,and when Steve says hes looking out for your sucess,,thats no BS,,,,Jack

Dear Steve,
Thanks a lot for another fantastic video! The infos you presented here make lots of sense to me. I am looking forward to what is coming next…
Blessings from Switzerland,
Max Tofone
Thank you Steve! This is your best video yet. The Relevant vs Irrelevant is something we decide on every day, but I Loved how you got to the point with this regarding choosing a future business or even what you do in your existing business! I’m a popcorn store owner in Utah and I like this quote that coincides: “You need a laser-like focus on doing first things first. And that means having a ferocious understanding of what you are NOT going to do.” – Jim Collins “Good to Great”
Hi Steve, Many thanks once again for the sharing , I have seriously been thinking very much about all parts discussed. Because of service in this life time, placing all my skills and talents then this was supposed— to be one of Making the most of my gift’s, like everyone else ,Forgot got lost in ocean of emotions, Now up and ready to go again , why do I feel like if truth be said I really don’t want to work for someone else . Sure need to find that peg I fit into,Truth is I no longer wish to work for someone else that’s it. However where I am not making anything at this time. May be I should rent out a tree house ?
