What does personal success have to do with business success?
In this video I give you a simple yet powerful activity which establishes a solid foundation for personal success in finding your perfect business.
You may have heard the expression, “for things to get better, you must get better”. This means that the growth and success of your business is largely depended on your personal growth and the degree to which it delivers your personal success.
By completing the activity prescribed in this video you’ll gain a crystal clear understanding of what personal success really means to you, specifically from the context of your perfect business and how it is going to have to serve the success you want all areas of life.

Personal success is about knowing what you want.
I read a great quotation recently: “The first step to getting what you want is knowing what it is.”
Most people go through life seeking a ‘generalized’ vision of success defined by things like “more free time”, “more money”, “a nicer car”, “bigger house”, etc. But the majority of the time, even if they get these things they still don’t experience the success they seek. Why not?
Because they never really defined what success IS; what it means to them; and how attaining will serve their purpose in life.

I just started this new site and tried this exercise. I have had, ALL MY LIFE, a very negative life. This comes from the types of people I chose as FRIENDS. I have been called Stupied, dumb, and my ideas not worth a second look. I even married a wounderful man that I knew less then 2wks and have been married for 35 years. Even my husband is a negative person. When I bought my course (different course), a couple of weeks back (before I came to this site), I let my husband know that he would NOT search these programs or give me ANY negative feedback on what I am going to do. To my suprise, he agreed. I found that for the last two week my brain is starved for information and growth. How do I know this??? The Three words that LEPT into my head where:
LEARN
DECIPHER
INTELLIGENT

I have had a definition of success and after performing the exercise on the video the answer turn out to be the same.I real think that what ever ones definition of success is,money remains and will always be a key factor

I always thought I knew what success was but had never written it down. I’ve written and acheived goals but this seems somehow different. Now that I have written down what I think success is(3 pages and the thoughts are still coming), I want to work on turning it from dreams to reality. I’ll admit mid life crisis has set in and change is inevitable so I’m counting on your program to guide me through to follow up on what I’ve wanted to do for years and have an income producing asset as opposed to just another job. Actually many income producing assets to replace the new job I’m starting tomorrow…

Thank you, Steve, for the eye opening exercise. In the past I felt …alone.? when someone says DREAM BIG! Yes, it would be nice, for a while, to have a really nice car, big house, fancy clothes, travel to exotic lands. But what I found out, as I did the exercise, and as I read through the comments, is that I am not alone. What started repeating was happiness, satisfaction, sharing, giving, helping. Yes, money can be great to have, but some of us would not change our physical lives as much as our spiritual. No doubt, there are a few “toys” I would like to have, and a pleasant, easier life is a given. But to have enough of that green stuff to give away freely to people that really need it, so they could live a better life, would be the best feeling in the world!

I’m returning to your site having put it aside for a while because I’d like to refine my search for my perfect biz. Doing the Success Definition exercise has been exhilarating before. This time, clear words just spilled out.
Success for me is getting to hike on wilderness trails whenever I want with my beloved hiking partner with money and resources flowing from what it is that we provide others while we’re hiking. Our hiking lifestyle inspires others to walk into their dreams. The more we our out in Nature, the more money flows and the more our service to others grows. Success for me is joyous prosperity.
I’m looking forward to creating the specific vehicles to do that!

I was vey surprised by my thoghts of success. It isfar removed fro what Ihad originallythought. Success for me is : Having a long healthy life of giving to others and living life to the fullest. I didn’t hear anythingof being a millionaire of any of the other material possession I so long for.

Steve, I had to do the exercise several times before it started producing for me but it was a WOW with the thoughts that finally flowed in. Interestingly they related to the business that I am rebuilding and the new products that I’ve been working on and nothing about my second business. But the message on success wasn’t so much the products but the spirit and energy level that they will generate in the process of selling them and my contact with customers. It’s the high energy level that Dr. Wayne Dyer talks about that we can share with people we meet. The word “Sourceful” kept popping up and it wasn’t a word that I had used or thought of previously, or read anywhere (although I’ve been focusing on being aligned with Source). But it has lots of meaning and so I have some direction that I’d been looking for and a new picture of success.
I’m anxious to continue to take the next steps. Thank you.

I think I’m working hard on understanding what I really want from life and IN life..
I thought that it would be important to be recognised by the other…and time by time I gave away my time, my freedom..
now it’s hard to begin to build a new dimension of success..but it’s also funny..and it’s good to fine several point of (usefull) view from where to see and where to begin to find out always sometime stronger and new..thanks for now..I’m waiting for the next session =)!

Excellent exercise!! This is the first time I’m asked to define what success REALLY means TO ME, EVER. You are right! Most people would not have placed the right importance on defining success. It’s just \assumed\ that one already knows it. But if it’s in your head, it isn’t the same as downloading it onto a piece of paper the way you suggested. Well worth it!!

My thoughts about “Success Is”: happiness, being able to pay the bills and buy food, helping others ( especially children ), and being free from worry and stress. Most of my thoughts about “success” always involve helping the less fortunate.
A “strange” sequence of images led me from this:

Which supports my now re-confirmed vision of success: building my online magazine (filled with winning columnists and contributors, like-minded advertisers) so we can support my favorite non-profit that nourishes animals, people, the environment and me!
I thought I would write: find the good product but it went: find the answer…and then: to the people’s questions.
After doing the exercise 8 different times the common theme “Success Is Fun or having fun” not sure what to think but it seems to fit. I’m looking forward to see how this progresses!
I found that this simple technique of finding my true goals for success very useful and “freeing”. It is so easy to let my subconscious mind tell me that my goals are not possible. This

Success for me in some areas has been elusive [but so have my visions so parhaps there is the correllation as you so rightly point out].
So success for me after this exercise is the progressive realization of my aims; to render service, through my passions of writing, music, training, communication, that creates immense value for others and society and for which I receive enough to enjoy my own values of peace of mind, great health and fitness, blissful daily happiness,love and romantic love, high self-esteem and confidence, and prosperity enough to have, be and do whatever I want, whenever I want. The list is long – but always focused around being the best person I am meant to be and living the best life I am meant to live.
Succes for me is: peace, freedom, power, creativity, joy, communcation, growth

Success is a peaceful and beautiful spot on a lake in the mountains of NH where I have share a comfortable home with my spiritual partner and my furry friends and watch the sunrise over the water from my bed or the deck over coffee each morning. On the same property, I have a larger respite home for teens who are stuggling to break free of limiting beliefs and discover their life purpose. The home has a positive, respectful atmosphere, is bright and airy, has amazing staff who love teens. I live each day in gratitude, in service and with humility, knowing that I my living my purpose, supporting and inspiring others to be the best they can be, serving spirit and enjoying abundance in all aspects of my life.

I found something well underneath everything I thought was success. Then I thought a bit about it and realised that I had not said what success really means to me before because we are taught to be modest, to not shout about stuff, to be a good person, a good mother, a good wife. In Britain we knock down our idols, we look for ways to discredit so often, it is almost as if we cannot celebrate success. I sorta want to shout it…sorry folks, but it feels good! SUCCESS IS BEING RECOGNISED FOR BEING CLEVER, SMART, HAVING OPINIONS THAT PEOPLE WANT TO LISTEN TO, AND NEVER WORRYING ABOUT MONEY AGAIN!

Thank you Steve! I realized that my mind had a completely different idea of what success means for me, than what I found out through this exercise. Without the clarity that I now have I would for sure have made wrong choices that would have wasted time and energy, only to then find out I did not go for what I really wanted in the first place.

A much needed exercise for me.
I at last consciously got to define what the meaning of success is for me.
Success for me is good relationships with as many as humanly possible, while assisting them on their life paths.

I just realized how mean and nasty and very negative my subconscious is. I think I will look into a real Doc first. Then a business plan.
