Have you ever felt like you’re ready to quit?
Just give up on the whole idea of finding and building a business?
Give up on the idea of securing true wealth and financial security for yourself and your children…
Are you frustrated beyond words?
fed-up…disappointed….disillusioned….disheartened….
Wondering why in the heck it seems that everything is so dang difficult?
It’s OK. I’ve had this feeling plenty of times.
In fact, all successful people do.
It sort of goes with the territory.
Believe it or not, its actually a REALLY good sign.
One important key to your success is how you deal with it.
It is another of what I call the refiners fires of success.
It weeds out the truly success-bound from the wanna-be.
So today, I’m going to show you how to respond like a wildly successful entrepreneur.
I’m not going to have you read a long story today.
I’m just going to share one profound truth and give you one very simple instruction.
If you’ll trust me and do what I tell you to do today, you’ll never be tempted to choose failure over success again.
This one little tip has saved my bacon hundreds, no thousands, of times…in business…in athletics…in racing…in relationships…in everything.
A countless number of times the recollection of this simple truth has ultimately made the difference between success and failure for me.
And I have it on excellent authority the same goes for many, many other successes as well.
It is a phrase that is often attributed the wisdom of a Chinese proverb…I can’t prove that it is….
But I can assure you that if you can keep it in mind when you are frustrated or struggling, then it is guaranteed to pull you through to the success you desire.
The phrase is simply this:
“The temptation to quit will be greatest just before you’re about to succeed.”
Or, my friend Bob Parsons, founder of Godaddy, paraphrases it:
“When you’re ready to quit, you’re closer than you think.”
Or maybe you’ve heard it this way:
“It’s always darkest just before the dawn.”
Regardless which resonates with you, if you’ll keep this one simple truth in mind, you’ll never be truly tempted to quit.
Here are some ways I keep it ‘ever-present’ in my mind for those times I need it. Any and all them work so give them a try:
Is it “magic”?
No not really…It is just a simple truth we all tend to forget when we are in the midst of a trial.
These are really simple ways to remind you when you need it most.
Look, anyone who tells you that there will not be trials along the way in life and business is not telling you the truth.
I think you know that.
The difference between successful people and the rest is that successful people find ways to move past the struggle, breakthrough the trial and remain focused on the prize.
Even simple little tips and tricks like this one have a profound effect.
Don’t discount it just because it does not seem a grand enough measure to assure success.
In the end people do not fail without choosing….whether consciously or not.
Using anything that works for you will keep you from choosing failure over success.
Let me know which one you use and how it works for you.
I’m standing for all that’s possible for you in life and business.
Sincerely,
Steve

Wow, Steve!
The best post I ever read here. Not only really encouraging and inspiring (even though I technically knew this already), but this also moved me a LOT. The poem is so touching and the message so clear and true.
Thank you very much. It adds the emotional understanding to the idea of persistence I am practising with increasing success for a few months now…
Have an awesome day everybody!
Dino
Great post. I very much appreciated this. I have put out a request to the Universe for a support team. Here it is. I am reminded how many times in my life while driving in my car; I have noticed trying to find a place I have never been before and each time I was ready to give up; I found I was so close. Just a little bit further. Feeling so tense and anxious , the given directions not making sense, or me not really reading the directions properly ; much harder at night without light to see clearly– sooooooo many times i just wanted to give up and go home. Each time ; I found out I was almost there, just had a little more to go and there it was. It just happened again the other day.
I am an artist who owned and operated my own art gallery of all my own work for two years. Just closed recently. Was not financially wise to stay open AND I felt called to move into a new profession of Life Coaching. I have been on overwhelm with the change. Coach training is over in May and I have felt very stressed and upset over where, when and how.
Today I claimed my rightful path as a coach is unfolding perfectly before me.
Thanks for you post. I feel the support.
“People do not fail without choosing…whether consciously or not”
That’s the most profound statement that I’ve heard in a very long time.
I just wanted to say that I love that poem. It really strikes a chord in me. How I have been so close to calling it quits. I still do contemplate it because I’m not making anything on my website at present and it gets discouraging. I mean I have a great site and great products but I am doing all the marketing myself and it really gets rough. And all these marketers keep wanting me to buy their products and I don’t have any traffic yet so I don’t have any money to do anything with. Everything I do in my marketing has to be free. I have had my website published now for over a year and it does take you down into the dumps. You have these dreams and hopes for making a better future and then all you can do is cry at night because you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. And it doesn’t seem that you ever will. I didn’t know anything about marketing when I got this put this website together. I’m not a professional but yet I have put together what I think is a very respectable and professional looking site for all the good it does me. But I am persevering as best I can. So yes that sums up a lot of things that I feel most of the time. Great poem!
